The VUCA World and its lmpact on Research,Education and Jobs

新加坡工程院院士,新加坡国家科学院院士杨杰圣教授将做客弘信讲坛,带领同学们走进VUCA世界,探讨VUCA世界对研究、教育、就业的影响。精彩纷呈,知识盛宴,VUCA世界深度解析不容错过。

嘉宾介绍:Kiat Seng YEO杨杰圣 院士

新加坡工程院院士,新加坡国家科学院院士,前新加坡南洋理工大学电气与电子工程学院副院长,新加坡科技大学副教务长,天津大学微电子学院讲席教授。被美国斯坦福大学评为全球前2%科学家之一,集成电路领域行业专家。在《IEEE固态电路杂志(IEEE JOURNAL OF SOLID-STATE CIRCUITS)》《IEEE微波理论与技术汇刊(IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MICROWAVE THEORY AND TECHNIQUES)》等发表学术论文600余篇,引用9500余次,H指数50,编著出版《Intellectual Property for Integrated Circuits》《Low-Voltage, Low-Power VLSI Subsystems》。

讲座主题:

The new challenges posed by the post-pandemic world and digital transformation would require a re-imagination of how we structure our current economy and address our future manpower needs. Countries must continue to invest in education and research to remain competitive. This talk begins with an introduction of a new education model in a new area.

In addition, the fourth industrial revolution will change the world dramatically.The impact will be far greater than its three predecessors. Specifically, many existing PMET (Professional,Manager,Executive and Technician) jobs as well as traditional universities,technologies and industries will disappear. Together with the VUCA(Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) world, they will accelerate the pace of digital transformation and create new opportunities. In this new era, the relationship between university and industry could take new forms. Their collaboration plays an increasingly important role in creating new frontiers, ideas, knowledge, and growth areas.

Finally, This talk will redefine research success and introduce new research areas, transforming how we view research collaborations and changing the nature and direction of our research. It will address the challenges of modern education and research, predict the next big developments,and explore their impact on us.
