Biography of Demin Wang
Demin Wang received the B. S. and M. S. degrees in electrical engineering from Shandong University of Technology, China, in 1982 and 1985, respectively, and the Ph. D. degree from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) de Rennes, France, in 1992. He was a Professor in Shandong University of Technology from 1992 to 1993, a visiting researcher at the University of Sherbrooke, Canada, from 1993 to 1994, and a visiting professor at the Institut de Recherche en informatique en systèmes aléatoires (IRISA) Rennes, France, from 1994 to 1995. Since 1996, he has been with the Communications Research Centre, Canada, where he has worked as a scientist, team leader, and then the manager of Advanced Video Systems Group. His research interests include image coding and processing, video processing and coding, digital TV and broadcasting. Dr. Wang has published over one hundred journal and conference papers and holds six granted/pending patents. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor in Laval University, Canada, and an Associate Editor for IEEE Trans. on Broadcasting.
